This temporary policy supercedes our usual "non-refundable" policy outlined below and will be reviewed in September 2020 at the latest.
Listed below are the Booking Terms and Conditions (T&C) for George & Jennifer Greenham, Vine House, Yattendon Road, Hampstead Norreys, Berkshire RG18 0TF, Great Britain, hereafter referred to as Chalet Chanterelle. These Booking Terms and Conditions form the basis of your contract with Chalet Chanterelle for renting Chalet Chanterelle on a self-catered basis and shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Booking Terms and Conditions and are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
1 The booking agreement
Once you have received both, the availability confirmation and an e-mail with acceptance of the booking from Chalet Chanterelle, a booking enquiry will be held for 7 days pending the receipt of a 25% deposit, in euro, and a completed booking form. The outstanding balance of the rent (75%) must be paid, in euro, 8 weeks before the start of the letting period together with the €1500 Damage/Security deposit, the €190 end of let period cleaning charge and the local “Taxe de Sejour”.
If the booking takes place less than 8 weeks before the start of the letting period, full payment of the rent must be made at the time of booking, together with the Security Deposit, the end of let cleaning charge and the local “Taxe de Sejour”.
If after 7 days the required booking form and appropriate payment have not been received, Chalet Chanterelle reserves the right to consider the booking cancelled and to rebook the chalet without notification.
The “Party Leader”, who must be at least 25 years of age, must complete the Chalet Chanterelle booking form on behalf of all named persons on the “Booking Form” and in doing so confirms everyone’s acceptance of these “Booking Terms and Conditions”. He/she is responsible for all matters relating to the booking and will be personally liable for all the monies outstanding to Chalet Chanterelle for the remainder of the group.
The “Party” refers to all persons booked to stay at Chalet Chanterelle by virtue of being listed on the Booking Form.
The maximum chalet occupancy of 10 will be strictly enforced. A child or baby will be counted as one, regardless of age and unauthorised occupancy is disallowed.
If at any time prior to the start of the letting period there are any name changes to be made in the “Party” members, these need to be notified as soon as possible by e-mail, by the original “Party Leader” to Chalet Chanterelle by submitting a new “Booking Form”.
2 The booking contract
Once Chalet Chanterelle has received your “Booking Form” and appropriate payment(s) Chalet Chanterelle will confirm the booking by sending you a receipt and invoice of any balance due. It is at this moment that that a binding contract comes into existence between you and Chalet Chanterelle.
The invoice will state when the final payment is due. If payment is not received in full and on time (8 weeks before the start date of the letting period) Chalet Chanterelle reserves the right to treat your booking as cancelled by you and the right to re-let the chalet without further notice.
You are requested to carefully check the invoice as soon as you receive it and to raise any issues you may have with it with Chalet Chanterelle as a matter of urgency.
Chalet Chanterelle guarantees the rental charge for Chalet Chanterelle, on a self-catered basis, as that quoted at the time of booking and reserves the right to increase or decrease the price of any unsold weeks at any time.
Chalet Chanterelle permits the guests detailed on the Booking (up to a maximum of 10) to occupy the accommodation for the period of the Booking together with the use of the furniture, fixtures and effects. Guests are required to use the chalet for the purpose of a private holiday residence only and to adhere to the “House Rules” for their safety and convenience. The property must not be used for any business activity or for illegal purposes. Price quoted include the use of the chalet, its contents and grounds, water, electricity, heating, bed linen, towels, kitchen towels, WiFi and firewood.
Payments, in “Euro”, by all major credit cards via PayPal will be accepted.
All “Party” members are advised to buy adequate Travel Insurance in order to cover such things as the cost of cancellation by you, damage caused to the chalet or injury caused to third parties, and it is the responsibility of the “Party Leader” to ensure all members are advised to this affect.
If you do not take out an adequate insurance policy, Chalet Chanterelle will not be liable for any matter arising as a result and you will be responsible for paying to and indemnifying Chalet Chanterelle for any such sums as we may incur on your behalf.
6 Alterations / Cancellations by you
Should you wish to make changes or alterations to your chalet rental arrangements after they have been confirmed you must notify Chalet Chanterelle in writing / e-mail. We shall endeavour to assist you but we cannot guarantee that your requests will be met.
With the exception of name changes or additions (subject to a maximum occupancy of 10), all alterations to the existing booking may be deemed as a cancellation.
A reduction in the number of people in the “Party” will not in any way alter the rent charged. However, the “Party Leader” must notify Chalet Chanterelle of any such change by e-mail as soon as possible.
Normally Your deposit is “Non-Refundable” under all circumstances. If you cancel your booking at any time within 8 weeks of the start of the letting period you will be liable for the full amount of the rent.

It is the parent's, or guardian’s, responsibility to ensure that children are safe and supervised at all times.
Due to the open treads of the internal stairways, the chalet is not deemed to be suitable for children of crawling age.
Therefore, Guests with children of such an age must take full responsibility for any accident which may result. Neither Chalet Chanterelle nor the chalet owners will be held responsible for any such accidents.

Chalet Chanterelle will not be held responsible for any theft or loss of personal possessions from the chalet, for any accidents, personal injury, or death occurring in the chalet or the chalet grounds under any circumstance.
Care should be taken in the prevention of blockages to the toilets and drainage system. Only toilet paper can be disposed of down the toilet pans.
There is a €190 charge for the end of let cleaning of the chalet. This must be paid together with the reservation balance and the Damage/Security Deposit at least eight weeks prior to arrival.
Guests are expected to leave their accommodation in the same clean and tidy condition as they have found the chalet upon their arrival.
Guests are responsible for disposing of their own refuse, using one of the many town recycling points. For larger parties this is best managed on a daily basis.
Guests will be liable for any extra cleaning costs should the chalet be left in a soiled state and for any refuse disposal costs incurred. This will be charged at the rate of Euro 33 per hour.
14 “Taxe de Sejour”
This is a local municipality levied tax that Chalet Chanterelle is legally obliged to collect in their behalf. It is imposed on every person aged 18 and over holidaying in the resort. This tax amounts to between 1.4 and 2.1 Euro per person per day which will have to be paid by the guest at the same time that the reservation balance is paid.
In the unlikely event that the Guests don’t stay at the chalet, this tax will be refunded in full.
15 Damage/Security Deposit:
A Damage/Security Deposit of €1500 is required for all reservations. The Damage/Security Deposit must be paid in full at the same time as the reservation balance at least 8 weeks before the start of the letting period.
If there is no damage or loss to the chalet or its contents during your stay, and no additional cleaning or other charge is required, then the Damage/Security Deposit will be refunded in full within 15 days of the end of the letting period. Otherwise any residual amount will be refunded as soon as possible thereafter, with detail of deductions made.
The chalet and its boot/ski room are fitted with digital deadlocks. The codes will be given to you by the owner’s agent on your arrival at the chalet.

Any additional services arranged on your behalf by Chalet Chanterelle over and above the provision of the chalet are provided by third party independent suppliers, and your contract is with them. These suppliers provide their services in accordance with their own terms and conditions.
Some third-party terms and conditions may limit or exclude that service provider's liability to you. Copies of these third-party terms and conditions should be requested directly from the supplier concerned if required.
